UQ Hockey Club

The oldest and most prestigious sports clubs in Brisbane, Australia. With a strong emphasis on family values, UQHC welcomes nearly 500 members of all ages and skill levels. This inclusive and vibrant community is dedicated to promoting and fostering a love for hockey.

UQHC boasts an impressive history, having been established over a century ago. It now proudly fields over 30 teams competing across various divisions, including men's, women's, and junior divisions. In recognition of its outstanding performance, UQHC was awarded the prestigious BWHA's Club of the Year in 2019, with a remarkable 11 teams reaching the Grand Final.

The club takes immense pride in the success of its players, particularly those who have achieved recognition at the highest level. Tatum Stewart and Morgan Gallagher recently made their debut in the Hockeyroos, representing Australia in a thrilling three-test match against China held in Perth. They join the ranks of other talented Red Roos, including Claire Colwill, Meg Pearce, and Beck Greiner.

As a volunteer-driven organisation, UQHC values the contributions of passionate individuals who help shape and enhance the club's operations. Whether you have a talent to share, an interest in planning social events, digital media skills, a love for sports writing, a desire to learn umpiring, or a passion for coaching junior teams, UQHC welcomes your involvement. The club constantly seeks improvements, creating new events that require graphic design and promotion, as well as match reports from various matches each week.
