And boys aged 5-17, which runs from February to May. However, we are continuously growing and looking to expand to offer more seasons throughout the year.
Our junior Oztag programme is all about fun, friends, and family. We believe that children who play Oztag can learn valuable skills such as teamwork, develop confidence, self-respect, and self-esteem. Our club strives to create an enjoyable environment that helps kids grow both on and off the field.
Whether your child wants to join an existing team, play with friends, or needs help finding a team, we cater to all. Full teams, individual players, and small groups are welcome. We have a team sheet available for download on our website, which team delegates can complete and submit prior to the registration deadline. Team managers can register their child and create a team name, while other players can choose the option that suits them best during the online registration process.
For teams with less than 11 players, individuals, and small groups, we will do our best to place them on a team and keep friends together. We ask that parents and players refrain from registering their child without the team manager's approval, and a minimum of 11 players is required for a junior team. Each team will have 8 players on the field.
We understand that you may have questions, so we have provided an FAQ section on our website to address any concerns. Additionally, you can find information about field maps for different age groups, team allocations, and more on our website.
Tweed Coast Oztag is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable sporting experience for all players. We offer limited contact with no tackling in our Oztag games. The aim is for players to grab the “tag” from the side of their opponents' shorts to stop them from scoring a try. Our strict rules regarding contact ensure that safety is one of our top priorities.
By playing Oztag, your child can have fun, get fit, and enjoy a sense of camaraderie. We create a lively atmosphere with music playing each week, great prizes, and a BBQ at the end of each season to celebrate everyone's efforts. Oztag is designed to be challenging, allowing players to incorporate it into their current workouts or use it as a way to achieve their fitness goals.
So, if you're ready to join our ever-growing Tweed Coast Oztag family, register for the upcoming season and let the fun begin!
