Triathlon in Australia is a relatively young sport, but one that has grown in leaps and bounds in recent years. With our 2008 Olympic medals – Gold to Emma Snowsill and Bronze to Emma Moffatt - there has been an upsurge in interest in this challenging sport.
You don't have to be an aspiring Olympian to enjoy triathlon, the majority of participants are everyday people with jobs, families and other interests. The common factor amongst most triathletes is an interest in pursuing a healthy lifestyle with varied physical training (ie swimming, cycling and running) and the opportunities this brings for training, racing and socialising with like-minded people.
