The Wicked Wings Club

Known as the Wicked Wings Club, a vibrant sports club located in the Lockyer Valley Regional area of Australia. Comprised of passionate recreational pilots from both Para and Hang glider disciplines, the club provides a welcoming environment for pilots to come together and enjoy their love for flying.

The Wicked Wings Club was originally formed in March 2005 as the Toowoomba and District Para/Hang Gliding Club. A group of enthusiastic Para glider pilots saw the need for a structured organisation that could act as a point of contact for flying, negotiate with landowners, and provide a social focus for local pilots. Over the years, the club has steadily grown its membership, attracting new members due to the dedication and promotion of the sport by its committed pilots.

The club boasts a range of well-maintained sites that cater to a variety of wind directions, ensuring that pilots have suitable launch points for both Para gliders and Hang gliders. Members have put in countless hours of work to clear the launches and make them take-off friendly. Each site also has vehicle access to facilitate easy transportation for the pilots.

One of the club's most popular sites is Ma Ma Creek, which is classified as a PG3/HGNov (novice) site. It offers an ideal location for pilots to practise their skills and enjoy the stunning scenery. It is important to note that all pilots wishing to fly at the club's sites must be members of the Wicked Wings Club and receive an induction from one of their experienced members. As the sites are situated on private lands, visiting pilots are required to seek advice from club members before flying the sites.

At the end of a thrilling day of flying, members of the Wicked Wings Club gather at the landing zone for post-flight bragging and some well-deserved refreshments. These moments of camaraderie further strengthen the bond between the pilots and create lasting memories.
