Toowong Rowing Club (TRC) is Australia's tope performance rowing club, with a rich history dating back to 1889. Located at 37 Keith Street in St Lucia, Brisbane, TRC is known for its robust membership that encompasses rowers of all categories and levels of experience.
TRC prides itself on its exceptional facilities and equipment. The club features a fully equipped gymnasium, providing members with everything they need to stay fit and in peak rowing condition. Additionally, TRC boasts a Functions Centre that serves as a venue for weddings, corporate functions, and community-based events, offering a picturesque and versatile space for any occasion.
The club's history has had its fair share of challenges, with floods washing away its original shed on two occasions. However, true to its resilience and commitment to its members, TRC relocated and erected a new shed upstream from the Regatta Hotel. Unfortunately, the devastating floods of 1974 once again destroyed the shed. In 1976, the club made its final move to its current location on Keith Street in St Lucia, where it continues to thrive and provide a home for rowing enthusiasts.
TRC's membership is diverse and inclusive, welcoming rowers of various age groups and skill levels. The club supports juniors, high-performance rowers, veterans, Honorary Life Members, recreational rowers, and social members. Whether you're a seasoned rower looking to push your limits or someone returning to rowing after a hiatus, TRC offers opportunities for all members to pursue their passion and improve their skills.
With its rich history, dedicated membership, and state-of-the-art facilities, Toowong Rowing Club is undoubtedly a premier destination for rowing in Australia. Whether you're a competitive rower or simply looking to enjoy the sport in a supportive and welcoming environment, TRC provides everything you need to thrive and achieve your rowing goals.
