

Thirroul Thunder FC, located in Wollongong, is a vibrant and inclusive sports club that caters to juniors, women, and men. With a long history and strong presence in the community, Thirroul Thunder FC offers a range of programmes and teams for players of all ages and skill levels.
The club's junior programme is a cornerstone of the community, with over 400 players ranging from Under 6s Mini Roos to Under 18s Graded Juniors. Thirroul JFC aims to create an environment that prioritises the enjoyment and development of its young players. While success is not solely measured by winning, the club encourages players to have fun, improve their skills, and actively participate in community events. Thirroul JFC also offers a pathway for junior players to progress to the Thunderbolts, the club's senior Thunder, Thunderbirds, and Gibson Park Rangers teams.
Thirroul Thunder, founded in 2008, serves as the flagship team of the club. The Thunder has experienced consistent success, clinching the Football South Coast District League Club Championship in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Notably, the majority of Thunder players are Thirroul juniors, highlighting the club's commitment to nurturing talent from within. Over the years, the Thunder has consistently made finals appearances, including winning the Reserve Grade grand final in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Thirroul Thunder FC's women's team, known as the Thunderbirds, have been competing in the Football South Coast's women's competition since 2001. In 2016, the Thunderbirds expanded with the addition of a Thunderbirds U21s team. The Thunderbirds have achieved notable feats, including reaching the Division 1 grand final in 2014 and winning the Division 3 League Championship in 2015. They were also runners-up in the FNSW W21s Champions of Champions in 2016 and 2017.
In 2018, the Thunderbirds claimed both the FSC's inaugural WYL League and Grand Champions titles. In 2020, the Division 1 team reached the semi-finals.
In addition to its junior and senior teams, Thirroul Thunder FC is proud to host Thunder and Gibson Park Rangers, social all-age men's teams. These teams provide an opportunity for players within the community to continue playing and enjoying the sport.
