The Southern Academy of Dance provides quality training in classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, creative movement and performance from tiny tots to teacher levels, and has done for over 50 years!
The studio's principal Sandra Breen OAM spent many years as a professional dancer, and has since become an award winning choreographer, a fully qualified CSTD examiner, registered RAD teacher and is one of the most highly respected dance teachers in Queensland. In 2010, Sandra Breen was awarded a medal for the Order of Australia for her service to the performing arts. It is no wonder that many past students have enjoyed outstanding careers in dance and performance in theatre, television and film, whilst others have gone on to creative careers in production, teaching, artist management and behind-the-scenes in entertainment!
Certainly, the studio continues to watch its most recent alumni live out their dancing dreams all over the globe, and we excitedly await the success of our current students (the next generation of emerging artists!)
