Established in 1888, the Tanunda Cricket Club is a renowned sports club nestled in the vibrant Barossa Valley in Tanunda, South Australia. Affiliated with the Barossa & Light Cricket Association, the club holds a level 3 accreditation as a Good Sports Club.
Throughout its rich history, the Tanunda Cricket Club has proudly accumulated numerous leadingships, with an impressive record of 14 championships in A Grade, along with many more successes in other grades. It remains the only club within the BLCA association equipped with lights, enabling nighttime cricket matches.
The club places a strong emphasis on nurturing its youth players, recognising their pivotal role in the club's future. The junior teams consistently attract high numbers, with many talented youngsters progressing through the ranks and onto either grade cricket or district cricket. With a focus on holistic development, the club actively encourages juniors to participate in senior sides, providing them with mentorship from experienced senior players.
Regular training sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday night during the season, accompanied by a social barbecue after Thursday's session, where team selections are announced. The cricket season typically runs from early to mid-October until early March, with pre-season training occurring from late August or early September.
