Welcome to Tait's Wongabel Stables, a leading sports club located in the scenic Tablelands Regional area of Australia. Established in 1987, Tait's Wongabel Stables carries on the tradition of bush riding that was started by Sheila Tait's late husband. Under Sheila's guidance and with the assistance of our friendly team of experienced instructors, safety is always our top priority, ensuring that all riders have an enjoyable experience.
Sheila Tait, an experienced trail rider herself, has extensive knowledge of the district and has helped plan extended rides in remote areas. She also has experience riding with pack horses on the Bicentennial National Trail, making her a trusted expert in the field.
At Tait's Wongabel Stables, we offer a range of services to cater to riders of all abilities. Beginners of all ages can enjoy a one-hour lesson/ride, where they will learn the basics of handling a horse. For more experienced riders, we offer half-day rides in a breathtaking scenic mountain setting. This half-day ride includes a morning tea break, where riders can relax and enjoy a cuppa while boiling the billy at a picturesque creek.
We also welcome student and youth groups for introductory lessons, where they can learn about horse riding in a safe and supportive environment. If you are an experienced rider and looking for a longer adventure, we can arrange whole day rides, provided there are sufficient riders available and advanced notice is given. Please note that entire day rides are suitable for experienced riders only.
Our pricing is as follows: $60 for a one-hour ride, $100 for a half-day (morning ride), and $150 for an entire day ride.
