So, Mark wanted to share some quick updates from him about Tabcorp Park Menangle. You all know it's got a prime spot on Racecourse Road in Menangle Park, NSW, just about 10 km out from the town center. Easy to get there via Racecourse Avenue.
Mark's proud to say Menangle is a top-notch racing venue with meetings happening year-round. You'll catch races on Saturday nights and Tuesday days. Plus, they host some big events like the Miracle Mile, Chariots of Fire, Len Smith Mile, Ladyship Mile, and the Inter Dominion.
For those keen on upcoming races, Mark's got the scoop. November 2023 has a bunch of meetings lined up, including races on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. December 2023 and January 2024 are packed too, with both night and day races planned. February 2024 also looks exciting with more action on the track.
The track itself is impressive. It's got a 1400m circumference with a 350m home straight, turns with a 110m radius, and a crushed granite surface. The racing distances range from 1609 to 3009 meters, and they run anti-clockwise. Mobile races can have up to 12 horses, while stand races can have 14.
Record-wise, some horses have pulled off amazing times here. My Field Marshal NZ hit a mile rate of 1:46.9 over 1609 meters, and Zennart NZ set a record of 1:51.4 over 2300 meters. In the trotters' category, Maori Time holds the 1609-meter record at 1:51, and Tough Monarch tops the 2300 meters at 1:55.6.
As for facilities, Mark says they've got you covered. The Broadcaster, Fred Hastings, gives live updates and there's radio coverage too. The Macarthur Pavilion Sports Bar, Miracle Mile Restaurant, and Members Lounge offer great food and drink options. Plus, Garrard's Store is there for your racing merch needs.
Other perks include training facilities, stables, function spaces, the Menangle Country Club, wedding venues, and even a courtesy bus for getting around.
