Northern Districts Table Tennis Association (SNDTTA) is a prominent sports club located in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1950, it was formerly known as The Manly Warringah District Table Tennis Association (MWDTTA). SNDTTA's main objective is to promote and support the sport of table tennis in the region.
Initially, the association focused on the beachside suburbs of northern Sydney but has gradually expanded its reach to include numerous inland suburbs such as Willoughby, Thornleigh, Hornsby, Forestville, Annangrove, Rydalmere, Rhodes, Carlingford, and now the Hills District. SNDTTA is affiliated with Table Tennis New South Wales and has become one of the largest associations in the state.
With approximately 18 affiliated clubs and over 2,000 registered members, including more than 300 competition players and junior teams, SNDTTA organises two major team competitions in Autumn and Spring. Additionally, they hold the district championships in August. To ensure fair competition, the competitions are divided into six divisions based on player skill levels.
For those interested in tracking their team's progress, SNDTTA provides Divisional Tables that display results and positions. Team managers are required to enter match results within 24 hours of the match's conclusion. Players can also check their current rankings or the rankings of their opponents before matches.
SNDTTA actively showcases the achievements of its teams and players. The association congratulates the winners of the 2021 Autumn Competition and maintains a Champions Roll to honour their success. They also announce upcoming events, such as the 2023 Autumn Tournament, which is estimated to start in the last week of February 2023. Those interested in participating are encouraged to contact their local club to join a team.
With 14 affiliated clubs offering a variety of playing venues, SNDTTA provides ample opportunities for table tennis enthusiasts to engage in the sport. Opening times may vary, so it is advised to check the list of clubs and venues on their website to find one that suits individual preferences.
In addition, SNDTTA is fortunate to have some of Australia's top table tennis coaches, who contribute to the development and growth of players in the association.
The association also organises the SNDTTA District Championships, a highly successful event. They extend their gratitude to individuals who supported the championships, including sponsors and special guests. Winners and runners-up are recognised in various divisions and categories, showcasing the talent and skill present in SNDTTA.
