Surrey Park Swimming Club, established in 1904, is one of the oldest swimming clubs in Australia. They offer swimming and diving lessons in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with locations at Blackburn Learn to Swim Centre and Aqualink Box Hill.

At Surrey Park, they believe in providing a nurturing environment for children to learn and have fun. While they prioritise teaching correct stroke technique, they also understand the importance of engagement and enjoyment in the learning process. With low student ratios, qualified swim instructors, and a continual training ethos, Surrey Park ensures that children are provided with the best learning experience possible.

What sets Surrey Park apart is their commitment to giving back to the community. They donate money from every lesson to their CAPS programme, which helps facilitate swimming lessons for newly arrived migrants, students with disabilities, and financially disadvantaged families. Additionally, they spread the importance of water safety through free talks to kindergartens and schools.

For those interested in competitive swimming, Surrey Park's Learn to Swim programme feeds into their Club Squad programme. Led by Head Coach Justin Bell, the Club Squad programme caters to swimmers of all levels and abilities, from junior development to high performance level.

The facilities at Surrey Park are second to none. At the Blackburn Learn to Swim Centre, students get to experience swimming in mineral-based salt water, which is great for those with skin conditions or those who wish to reduce exposure to chemicals. The facility is purpose-built and provides a quiet environment for focused learning.

Aqualink Box Hill offers the opportunity to stay and play for free on the day of the lesson, utilising the aquatic play spaces. They have tipping buckets and an aquatic play area for children to enjoy. With state-of-the-art facilities, public diving boards, and a 25-metre indoor and outdoor pool with a grass area, Aqualink Box Hill offers a fantastic learning environment.

Surrey Park also offers a range of programmes tailored to different age groups and needs. From their Infant Programme for children aged 6 months to 3 years, which focuses on water familiarisation and confidence-building through songs and repetition, to their Adult Learn to Swim Programme for individuals aged 16 and above, Surrey Park caters to everyone. They even offer inclusive swimming classes for children with special needs.

If you or your child is interested in diving, Surrey Park offers a fun beginner dive programme where they introduce skills such as dives, twists, tucks, and somersaults. This programme is a great introduction to the sport of diving.
