Sturt Domestic League

Have just completed the Aussie Hoops programme are encouraged to join the Sturt Domestic League. Sturt Domestic League is a local, low-cost, entry-level alternative to competitive District basketball in Adelaide. It provides a more flexible and less intensive basketball experience for players of all skill levels and experience.

The league runs all year round, following the school terms. Summer takes place during Terms 4 and 1, while Winter runs during Terms 2 and 3. Players can join the league at any stage of the season, offering greater flexibility in terms of timing and commitment.

Registration for the Sturt Domestic League requires a $50 deposit, which is deducted from the total amount. The costs for a full season (two terms) are $199 for teams that Sturt provides the coach for, and $149 for teams that provide their own coach. Current Sturt District players receive a $20 discount if they play both in the District and Domestic leagues.

In addition to the season fees, there may be a once-per-year affiliation fee that needs to be paid to register with Basketball South Australia and Basketball Australia. However, if players are already affiliated with District basketball, country basketball, or another Domestic competition, they are exempt from this fee.

In addition to the Sturt Domestic League, Sturt Basketball offers the Aussie Hoops programme, an introductory basketball programme for beginners aged 5–10 years. After completing Aussie Hoops, players are encouraged to join the Domestic League to continue their basketball journey. The Aussie Hoops programme runs all year round during school term time, and the cost is $90 per term, inclusive of an Aussie Hoops starter pack. Returning players who don't need the pack pay $60 per term.
