Taught on the beautiful Sydney Harbour, the RYA Start Yachting Course is the perfect place to start. This RYA sailing school course covers the fundamentals of sailing – including terminology and wind awareness and skills such as knot tying, steering and sail trimming. At EastSail, you will be at the helm right from the first lesson and be able to comfortably perform all the basic learn to sail manoeuvres of sailing by the end of the course.
No previous experience required for these beginner sailing lessons! At our sailing school we will teach you everything you need to know to how to learn to sail. Our class sizes are an intimate 5 people or fewer. By the end of this course you will understand terminology and the importance of wind direction. You will also know how to rig and prepare the yachts for sailing, execute manoeuvres of tacking and gybing, understand basic right of way rules, and be able to tie a number of useful basic knots.
This course is taught over 2 days – learn all the basic skills and spend the weekend aboard! Running from 9am Saturday till 4pm Sunday you will learn everything you need to know to sail on Sydney Harbour. An EastSail student race and meals aboard are included.
