Stanthorpe City Football Club was established in 1982 by a group of young men aged between 16-21 with an innovative and exciting approach to establishing a successful club in the Stanthorpe Football competition. Over the years we have expanded our club with the inclusion of a Colts (under 18) and Ladies teams. More recently teams of junior player aged 5 – 14 years have joined our club. Stanthorpe City has long held a reputation of being a family club that has a history of educating and mentoring our young members towards an active healthy lifestyle and community participation regardless of social or economic standing. As a 100% volunteer organisation, PARTICIPATION and FUN are the cornerstones of the Club Philosophy.
In the clubs history, we have seen many successful seasons with Junior Colts, Senior Colts, Ladies and our Men’s teams winning many championships and club cup competitions. The main focus for the current committee is to continue to raise the profile of our junior program in 2020 and offer a family friendly, supportive organisation to attract new players, sponsors and supporters to our club. The continued growth and building on the junior programs providing a secure, friendly environment both on and off the field is what people are looking for particularly in junior sport. To enable us to successfully provide this means an increase in training resources and financial outlay.
In the true spirit of community club soccer, every players enjoyment is the paramount concern, with our non-competative grades equal time on the pitch is given to every player regardless of ability, shape or size. The club believes and strongly promotes values such as respect for teammates, coaches, officials and the opposition. Codes of Conduct are clearly on display for everyone to see and adhere to.
Winning games and collecting trophies as mentioned earlier, are a by-product, our success is judged purely on whether children, parents and supporters come back each week to support their club. Our ambition is to continue the growth of our club in 2020 and beyond.
