About
The SGFA Special Needs Programme, the St George Warriors, was established by Carss Park FC in acknowledgement to the passing of former president Darryl Hancock in 2014. His vision was to offer a football programme catering for male and female players with development disabilities aged 5 to adult years.
The Programme is an innovative, equal access community initiative which provides a fun, inclusive and social environment for players and their families to participate in a modified team format.
Training and games are held at the Carss Park FC home ground, Charles Pirie Reserve and the St George Warriors teams also participate in Football NSW annual Football 4 All Gala Day.
The programme has been wonderfully embraced both in the local and wider Sydney areas and has been a great success with clubs, opposition teams, players, volunteers, and the community all round. The programme has grown to 3 teams in 2016 and looking to expand to four + in 2017.
