Souths Little Athletics

Souths Little Athletics is a not-for-profit sports club located in Brisbane, Queensland. Established in 1983, the club caters to children aged 3-16 and has a rich history of producing talented athletes.

The club initially started its competitions on Friday nights at the Annerley Juniors Soccer Club in Greenslopes, but has since moved to Yeronga State High School. The competitions now take place on Saturday afternoons, starting at 3:00pm and running until approximately 6pm.

Souths Little Athletics prides itself on providing children with an opportunity to compete and achieve personal bests, regardless of their ability. While winning is not the main focus, there are also opportunities for more talented participants to gain competitive experience at the regional and state levels.

A wide range of events are offered at Souths Little Athletics, including sprints, long distance running, race walking, hurdles, relays, shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, long jump, and triple jump. The season runs from September through to March each year.

Souths Little Athletics is just one of 98 Little Athletics Centres in Queensland, all of which are governed by Little Athletics Queensland. The organisation's mission is to develop children of all abilities by promoting positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family and community involvement in athletics activities.

Souths Little Athletics Centre has a vision of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle within a safe and enjoyable environment that unites families and the community. The centre aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities and support, educate, and encourage athletes of all abilities.
