The South West Strikers Hockey Club was formed in 1993 in the south-west of Western Australia and although it is centred in the City of Bunbury it attracts players from as far away as Boyup Book, Busselton, Collie , Harvey, Manjimup, Margaret River, Nannup, and Mandurah.
Teams from the club play in the “elite” Perth based hockey competition that boasts the best hockey players in Australia owing to the establishment of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Hockey base in Perth, WA.
The South West has produced many talented and exciting hockey players and prior to the formation of the Strikers such players had to move to Perth if they wished to further their careers in hockey.
