South Side Derby Dolls (S2D2) is a roller derby sports club based in Sydney, Australia. Established in 2012, S2D2 draws members from South Sydney and the surrounding areas, including St George and Sutherland Shire, as well as the outer Sydney City and South West suburbs.
The club offers a Learn to Skate programme for individuals who want to join the Dark Side and get involved in roller derby. The programme is open to anyone, regardless of their skating experience. Whether you already know how to skate or haven't skated since you were a kid, S2D2 will teach you the basics needed to get started on the path to roller derby greatness.
In addition to recruiting skaters, S2D2 is also looking for skating officials, non-skating officials, and volunteers who are keen to get involved off the track. The club has a place for everyone, no matter their interests or skills.
Roller skating not only provides a fun and exciting way to get fit, but it also offers great health benefits. Roller skating is equivalent to jogging but with 50% less shock to the joints compared to running. It's a low-impact workout that can improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and coordination.
