At South Launceston Little Athletics Centre, we prioritise the well-being and growth of our young athletes. We believe in the importance of a balanced approach to athletics, focusing on both physical fitness and personal development. Our athletes are encouraged to set personal goals, strive for their personal bests, and celebrate their achievements along the way.

As the largest Little Athletics Centre in Tasmania, we take pride in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members. Our dedicated coaches generously donate their time and expertise to help our athletes improve their skills. They conduct training sessions at Youngtown Oval, and all South Launceston members are welcome to attend any session from October through to March. Our coaches prioritise the development of proper techniques, strength, and flexibility, ensuring that our athletes have the tools they need to excel in their events.

Throughout the season, we host regular meets where our athletes can showcase their abilities and compete in a friendly atmosphere. We upload results after each meet, allowing athletes to track their progress and see their hard work pay off. Our photographers volunteer their time to capture the memorable moments of competition, creating lasting memories for our athletes and their families.

In addition to athletics, we also value community involvement. We regularly partner with local sponsors, such as Harrison Agents and Coles, to provide unique experiences for our athletes. We organise special events, like the Coles Community Round, which adds an element of fun and excitement to our meets. Furthermore, we also take the time to honour important occasions, such as Remembrance Day, as a way to instil values of respect and gratitude in our athletes.

At SLLAC, we understand the importance of injury prevention and overall well-being. We emphasise the incorporation of proper warm-up routines, strength and flexibility training, and maintaining a well-balanced diet and hydration. By instilling these preventive measures, we aim to keep our athletes healthy and thriving.
