The Hobart speedway was founded over 30 years ago and has operated on a continuous basis since then. It is currently operated by a board of eight directors via Latrobe Speedway Pty Ltd who also own and operate the speedway at Latrobe now known as Bendigo Bank Arena.
The Hobart track is 440 metres (0. 27 miles) long at the pole line and has a clay surface which is extremely friendly to race tyres. The track is D shaped with minor banking in each of the turns. It has a state of the art safety catchment fence which was placed in recent years.
The crowd capacity of the venue is over 5000.
