About
Shellharbour City RLFC has a proud 113 year history, originally existing as a rugby union club before switching to the greatest game of all, rugby league, in 1920.
We have spent the bulk of our existence competing in the South Coast Group 7 competition, but the club did have a short five year stint in the Illawarra League between 2009 and 2013.
In 2007/08 we entered a team in NSW Rugby League’s Jim Beam Cup (now the Ron Massey Cup) as the Shellharbour City Marlins, and in 2009/10 we competed in the NSW Cup as the Shellharbour City Dragons, during which time we acted as the official feeder club to the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
The club have won five first-grade premierships in total, the last of which was in 2001, as well as over 30 reserve, third, and under-18 leadingships.
