Welcome to Shapland Swim Schools Moorooka.
My name is Lucas Shapland, I am a fourth generation Swim teacher. I am also very happy to announce that the swim school is now officially back in the Shapland fold as Marie and I secured the franchise for the swim school, and we are looking forward to the stability this agreement brings to the Shapland Swim School Moorooka. I first got in the water as a swim teacher in 1999 at the original Shapland Swim School in Clontarf Brisbane, which my grandparents (Bernie & Tuppy Shapland) built and founded in 1973. My parents (Norma & Chris Shapland) ran the swim school as I was growing up and gave me the fundamentals of water safety and swimming skills.
I have gained not only experience as a teacher, but also the knowledge of children's capabilities during the learning process.
We provide semi private swimming lessons for children from 6 months, as well as stroke correction and mini squad training. We only have 3 pupils per class and a maximum number of 2 classes in the pool at any one time, this ensures your child will receive more individual attention. The pool is a specially designed teaching pool and is heated to 32 degrees Celsius all year round. These lessons take place at a private residence with plenty of off-street parking, heated change rooms and an air-conditioned viewing room.
Our aim is to provide a safe and fun environment during your child's development in water safety with patience and positive encouragement. All teachers are accredited to Australian Teaching standards.
