The Australian Chief Instructor, Colin Punyer, started his study of karate in 1983 when he was inspired by the movie “The Karate Kid. ” Training four nights a week and as often as possible, Colin was determined to improve his skills. Despite facing challenges, such as training with adults and occasional injuries, he persevered and earned his Black Belt in 1989. Colin's dedication to karate led him to further his knowledge by visiting Japan over 50 times.
He still actively trains and learns karate, believing that everyone needs a teacher.
In 2005, Colin became the Chief Instructor for Seiko-Kai in Australia after receiving approval from Suzuki Sensei. This allowed him to continue his quest for knowledge and visit Japan whenever necessary. Colin continues to travel to Japan four times a year to ensure that his techniques and teaching methods at Seiko-Kai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Australia are of the highest standard.
