Saratoga Hawks is a sports club located in Central Coast, Australia, dedicated to teaching children new skills, fostering fitness, encouraging teamwork, and promoting community spirit through the great game of Australian Rules Football (AFL). The club has a strong focus on junior AFL, providing programmes for children of all skill levels and ages.
The Saratoga Hawks programme offers opportunities for children to participate in both the Junior AFL and Auskick programmes. The Junior AFL programme is designed for children aged 8 to 18, providing them with the chance to learn and develop their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. The Auskick programme is tailored for children aged 5 to 7, introducing them to the fundamentals of AFL through fun and interactive activities.
The club's history dates back to 2001 when Mark Kentwell and his son Alex, who was a registered player at Terrigal at the time, had the vision to establish an Auskick programme for Saratoga kids. Since then, the club has grown and evolved, becoming a cherished part of the local community. The club has had many achievements throughout the years, including the establishment of its foundation team in 2002, the impressive performance of its Under 17s team in 2013, and the skilful plays of Alec Anderson in the years 2002 to 2017.
Saratoga Hawks play their home games at Saratoga Oval, a welcoming and well-maintained facility that provides a great atmosphere for players and spectators alike. Additionally, the club participates in various away games throughout the season, playing at grounds such as Bateau Bay 'Blues', Killarney Vale Bombers, Gosford 'Tigers', Niagara Park, Northlakes Power, Peninsular 'Swans', Wyong 'Magpies', and Terrigal/Avoca 'Panthers'. Each of these grounds offers unique experiences and challenges for the players.
