SSAA - Mackay Branch Inc

SSAA Mackay Branch Inc, also known as the “Brightly Shooting Complex,” is a sports club located in Mackay Regional, Australia. The club is situated at the SSAA Brightly Shooting Complex and offers facilities for rifle, shotgun, and pistol shooting. It is owned by SSAA (Qld. Inc.

And caters to all SSAA members and authorised visitors.

The Brightly Shooting Complex is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9am to 5pm when a Range Officer is in attendance. The club frequently updates its Facebook group, “Q17 SSAA Mackay Branch,” with information on when a Range Officer is available to open the range. Those planning to visit the complex for shooting activities must bring a Breech Empty indicator, hearing protection, safety glasses, enclosed footwear, and appropriate clothing (excluding singlets or camouflage). They must also have the correct licence and membership cards, such as the SSAA Member card or SSAA Q17 Annual pass card, for entry.

Photo identification, including a driver's licence or school ID card, is required for unlicensed attendees. Entry fees can be paid in cash or via EFTPOS, and they vary depending on the membership status, with non-SSAA members paying $30, SSAA Members (white card) paying $15, and SSAA Mackay Annual Range Pass holders (red card) enjoying free entry. Free entry is also provided for juniors aged 11 to 17.

SSAA Mackay Branch Inc offers a wide range of disciplines, with 30 association competitions taking place monthly and continuing to grow. These disciplines include pistol shooting, such as Action Pistol, Air Pistol, Combined Services – Pistol, ICORE, Practical Pistol & IPSC, Silhouette Pistol, Single Action, and Steel Challenge. Shotgun shooting disciplines include Sporting Clays and 5-Stand. Rifle shooting disciplines encompass Air Rifle, Benchrest, Big Game Rifle, Combined Services – Rifle, Field Rifle, Fly Shoot, Lever Action, and Muzzle Loading.
