Welcome to RDA Maryborough, a sports club based in Maryborough, Queensland, serving the Fraser Coast area. Riding for the Disabled is a global charity movement that offers horse riding for individuals with disabilities. Horse riding is a unique form of physical exercise that can provide therapeutic benefits to people with a wide range of disabilities.

At RDA Maryborough, we believe that a four-legged friend can bring joy and therapeutic benefits to individuals with disabilities. Horse riding not only provides physical exercise, but it also improves coordination and balance, stimulates the mind and circulation, enhances muscle tone and relaxation, and promotes a sense of independence and well-being.

We cater to a diverse range of disability groups at RDA Maryborough, including individuals with mental health illnesses, intellectual disabilities or injuries resulting from accidents, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, thalidomide, blindness, deafness, autism, specific learning difficulties, and amputations. Age is not a barrier to reaping the benefits of horse-related therapy, as our youngest rider is 4 years old and our oldest is 54.

Our impact reaches across Queensland, with 18 centres, 65 coaches, over 700 volunteers, 100+ horses, 554 riders, and a history dating back to 1985. We are proud of the positive impact we make in the community and invite you to learn more about our work on our “Get Involved” page.
