Prahran Netball Association, now known as the Stonnington City Netball Association (SCNA), is a sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. With a proud and resourceful history that dates back to its establishment in 1983, SCNA has been instrumental in promoting and supporting the popular team sport of netball in Stonnington.
The association runs two seasons every year, with Season 1 taking place from February to June and Season 2 running from July to early December. SCNA is open to players of all ages and skill levels and encourages individuals to join the club and be a part of their netball community.
Over the years, SCNA has grown and evolved thanks to the dedication and passion of its founding members, Marg Connellan and Bella Parker. Their commitment and spirit continue to inspire the association and shape its future. SCNA is excited about what lies ahead and is actively working towards expanding its competitions and facilities, with new competitions and a new venue set to launch in 2024.
In addition to regular club competitions, SCNA also offers a top development programme known as Representative Netball. This programme provides talented netballers with an opportunity to participate in Netball Victoria's Pathway competitions and Talent ID Tournaments. SCNA fields representative teams in various age categories, including U11, U13, U15, U17, and Open divisions.
As a community-driven organisation, SCNA values the support of its partners and sponsors. They are grateful for their contribution in helping to keep netball alive and thriving in the region. SCNA is also active on social media, with a presence on Facebook and Instagram, where they share news, updates, and snapshots of games and events.
To accommodate the growing netball community, SCNA is working towards the development of outdoor courts, which will provide players with even more opportunities to engage in the sport they love. The association welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and abilities, promoting inclusivity in their netball programmes.
