The range at the Port Lincoln Rifle Club has recently undergone upgrades to meet the requirements of the SA Police Firearms Branch. These upgrades include the installation of baffles in the sheds and the raising of backstops. The club is fully equipped to accommodate a wide range of shooting disciplines, including service pistol, IPSC, Steel Challenge, archery, big game rifle, centrefire pistol, standard pistol, sport pistol, air pistol, large pistol silhouette, . 22 rifle silhouette, and .
22 3P rifle events.
Throughout the years, the Port Lincoln Rifle Club has hosted numerous events, including the Mini Masters Games in 2001, the 2015 and 2016 Steel Challenge State Titles, and State Team Selection matches for IPSC. The club is highly regarded and is utilised by the police and security industry for training purposes. Additionally, TAFE students utilise the club for the practical test required to obtain their gun licence.
For those interested in trying out shooting, the Port Lincoln Rifle Club warmly encourages individuals to come and have a shot. Club guns are available for hire during programmed shoots under the direct supervision of qualified range officers.
