Established in 1973, Port Adelaide Tennis Club is a friendly sports club located on Woolnough Road in Largs Bay, Adelaide. The club boasts six lit, plexipaved courts, catering to tennis enthusiasts of all experience levels.
The club offers a range of options for players, including mid-week social tennis, junior and senior competition. Port Adelaide Tennis Club takes pride in its inclusive nature, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels.
Affiliated with the Western District Tennis Association of South Australia, the club organises junior and senior competition matches throughout the Summer and Winter seasons. Junior competition matches typically take place on Saturday mornings or Friday nights for leading and State League players. Senior competition matches are held on Saturday afternoons.
During the Summer Senior Competition, matches are played from October to March. Nominations close in early September. Matches are scheduled from either 12:30pm to 3:30pm or 3:30pm to approximately 6:00pm. The club hosts a combination of home and away matches, with away matches primarily in the Western suburbs, including areas such as West Lakes, Grange, Henley South, Woodville, and Glenelg.
The Winter Senior Competition takes place from May to August, with nominations closing in early February. Matches are held on Saturday afternoons from 1:00pm to approximately 5:30pm. Similarly, matches are a mix of home and away games, with away matches spread across metropolitan Adelaide, including West Lakes, Norwood, Kensington, Seacliff, and Henley Beach.
The junior competition runs during both the Summer and Winter seasons. Summer, from October to March, has nominations closing in early September, while Winter runs from May to October, with nominations closing in February. Junior matches occur on either Saturday mornings from 8am or Friday nights from 6:30pm. Matches are not scheduled during school holidays.
Port Adelaide Tennis Club also has an active social committee that organises enjoyable and inclusive events, including quiz nights, club meal nights, and presentation dinners. These events provide an opportunity for members to connect and socialise off the court.
