At Platypus Swimming School, a family-owned business established in 1986, children ages 18 months to 8 years can learn to swim in a safe and supportive environment. The school offers a variety of programmes that focus on teaching young children to swim independently and to be able to swim back to the edge of the pool. Additionally, children will learn proper techniques for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly strokes, and can be trained for a squad level environment.

The staff at Platypus Swimming School are highly qualified and professionally trained with Austswim (learn to swim) and/or ASCTA (silver and bronze) accreditations. They are dedicated to guiding each child from being a non-swimmer to a proficient and water-safe swimmer.

Operating year-round, Platypus Swimming School provides lessons in an indoor heated pool. The pool water is filtered using UV filtration to lower the amount of chemicals, making it ideal for children with skin allergies or conditions. During summer, the temperature of the water is 29/30 degrees, while in winter it is maintained at 32/33 degrees.
