The club's goal is to offer educational, motivational, and practical information to the wider community in order to support the growth of cross country skiing as a recreational activity in the Perisher Valley and surrounding areas. In partnership with NPWS, PXC also manages and provides direction for the maintenance and development of cross country skiing assets in the region.
PXC collaborates with various XC and snowsports organisations, such as Snow Australia and NSWACT XC, to provide comprehensive training programmes and activities for young skiers. They also support local clubs and associations that promote XC skiing in the Snowy Mountains. NSWACT XC, based in Perisher, offers year-round training programmes and organises events and activities at the Perisher XC Centre. They also manage the Nordic Shelter, available for all XC skiers.
Another organisation supported by PXC is Snowy Mountains Nordic (SMN), a Jindabyne-based group that welcomes residents of all ages and skill levels. Their focus is on creating a fun and social environment for families and individuals, with a special development programme for local junior skiers. The Canberra Cross Country Ski Club (CCCSC) is also actively involved in promoting XC skiing in the Snowy River Shire Council region.
