Pegasus Pony Club

Pegasus Pony Club, located in Adelaide, is a sports club with a rich history as the first Pony Club established in South Australia. With our 70th birthday approaching in 2023, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and welcoming environment for new members of all ages. While we are part of the international Pony Club movement, our club is open to horses of all sizes, not just ponies.

At Pegasus Pony Club, we encourage riders of all levels to participate, from beginners of all ages to more advanced riders. We also welcome riding and social members, creating a unique opportunity for parents and their children to ride together at the same rally. Equestrian is one of the few sports where this can occur, highlighting our dedication to fostering a sense of family and community within our club.

Our club focuses on the values of fun, friendship, education, and learning. “A Life With Horses Starts Here” is the philosophy we follow, as advocated by Pony Club Australia. When you join as a riding member, you and your horse will learn various aspects of horse mastership and how to work harmoniously together. Our qualified instructors will guide you in caring for your horse, ensuring its happiness and health, as well as teaching you about different saddlery and equipment needed for various occasions.

Safety is a priority at Pegasus Pony Club, and our instructors will help you gain confidence in riding safely and managing unexpected situations with your horse. We offer incentives, certifications, achievement patches, and activities to encourage continuous learning and growth in the horse/human connexion. Even our senior members are constantly learning and expanding their knowledge.

As a member of the Metropolitan Zone of the Pony Club Association of South Australia, riders at Pegasus Pony Club enjoy regular competitions with other club riders. These events are opportunities for fun, laughter, healthy club rivalry, and a chance for both children and adults to connect with like-minded horse enthusiasts.

Pegasus Pony Club's grounds are nestled in the leafy foothills of Adelaide, specifically located on Greenwith Road at Golden Grove. Our club days, known as rallies, are held regularly, and we always welcome visitors.
