About
Unleashing kids' potential starts here at PCYC Deception Bay.
PCYC Deception Bay first opened in October 1997 with the building officially opened in February 1998. The building was jointly funded by the State Government’s Office of Sport and the Caboolture Shire Council (now Moreton Bay Regional Council).
We have a strong commitment to youth development with one of the longest continually operating Youth Management Teams in the state. Our commitment to the provision of high quality sport and recreation programmes is equally strong.
We run an annual Awards Presentation function where recognition is given to all young participants as well as those who achieve excellence in service and performance. Come and Try Days involving year 4 students in all Deception Bay schools are held annually. These expose young people to a wide range of sporting activities prior to their transition to high school.
We have 600 active members and attendance numbers exceed 50,000 per year.
Our catchment area includes Deception Bay, North Lakes, Burpengary, Narangba and Rothwell. However, many members travel from further away to participate in the high quality sport and recreational activities on offer.
Our stated policy, and indeed our reality, is that we encourage all members of our community to participate. All age groups and ethnicities are catered for and welcomed. We have fostered strong links with the large Pacific Islander population and the indigenous people within our community.
