About

Across different generations and backgrounds, with both Barker College alumni and non-alumni players making up the club's community.

Old Barker Football Club prides itself on its relaxed and inclusive approach. The club provides an opportunity for Barker College alumni and their network to continue playing football beyond their school years in a supportive and social environment. However, the club also welcomes players from all backgrounds, with approximately half of the playing group having no affiliation with Barker College.

The club is fortunate to receive support from the Old Barker Association (OBA), which allows recent Barker graduates to maintain their connexion with the school. This partnership offers a particularly compelling opportunity for these graduates to continue their involvement in football.

Old Barker Football Club has a variety of teams that cater to players of all different skill levels. Currently, the club fields a men's Division 2 squad, a men's Division 4 team, and an over 35's team. The club is also eager to reinstate a women's team and encourages anyone interested to contact them for more information.

In terms of the club's history, Old Barker Football Club (formerly known as Barker Old Boys Football Club or BOB's) was founded in 1991. The club's formation was spearheaded by Jeremy Hook, the former Barker College School Captain of 1988. Under his leadership, a number of alumni left their respective local teams to join together under the OB FC banner.

Starting as a single team in the bottom division of the Kuringai District Soccer Association (KDSA), the club experienced significant growth over the years. Within five years, it had expanded to four teams with over 60 members, playing in the top division (premier League) of the KDSA and winning two premierships. Today, the club boasts a membership of approximately 100 players.

In 2012, Old Barker Football Club welcomed its inaugural women's team, which competed in divisions three and two of the women's all-age NSFA competition. While the women's team is currently on hiatus, there are plans to revive it with the right manager, and the club and OBA are committed to providing additional support for its reinstatement.

For those interested in joining the club or exploring sponsorship opportunities, Old Barker Football Club encourages them to contact one of the club contacts listed on their social media platforms or club directories. The club is always open to new members and values the connexions made through football, both on and off the field.

Overall, Old Barker Football Club prides itself on its rich history, inclusive ethos, and commitment to providing a supportive and social environment for players to continue their football journey after their time at Barker College.
