Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails is a sports club located in the beautiful Numinbah Valley, just 45 minutes from the iconic Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast City. They offer an authentic Aussie experience with bush camping and glamping options. Previously unavailable to the public, they now offer access to Yowgurrabah, a working cattle property in the area.
At Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails, visitors can enjoy bush camping on the property, which is conveniently close to public bush walking tracks and a local café. While they no longer offer horse riding on their property due to inflated insurance costs, they provide a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the stunning natural beauty of the valley.
Established in 1987-88 by David Lyons, Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails was born out of the need for an alternative source of income to maintain Yowgurrabah, a 2500 acre family-owned cattle property. David, along with his wife Kimberley, who started working at Numinbah trails as a junior and never left, operate the property to this day. Both of them are long-time members of the rural fire brigade in Numinbah Valley and Gilston, with David holding the position of training and First officer, and Kimberley being the Third officer and V C E rep.
Kimberley, who has always had a passion for horses, has competed in pony club, eventing, and now focuses on western pleasure with her horses Prince and Tex. They have achieved great success in various Halter events at both state and national levels. Both David and Kimberley have obtained numerous horse-related qualifications and regularly attend vet and horse welfare courses. They have also completed a diploma in business management and have other areas of interest such as adventure races, four-wheel driving, and extreme caravanning in outback areas.
If you're looking for a truly Aussie experience and the opportunity to connect with nature, Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails is the place for you. With their bush camping options and access to stunning walking tracks, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the Numinbah Valley while enjoying the hospitality of the Lyons family.
