Norths St Josephs was always destined to be a club with special blessings – for this club owes its origin to a nun.
The story starts in 1966 when Sister Francis of St Joseph’s Convent, Nundah, decided that the boys from the school needed rugby league to keep their sporting development going.
The enterprising Sister Francis, undeterred by Norths’ tag of the Devils approached Bob Bax and Albert Bi…shop for some help.
Norths lived up to the “help thy neighbour” principles, donated a set of jerseys for an Under 10 side and Bob Bax volunteered to coach the side.
Thus the St Joseph’s club was born, becoming the first affiliated Northern Suburbs Junior Rugby League Club.
St Josephs prides itself as a family club incorporating Netball for the girls as well.
St Josephs hosts junior teams from 6’s to 18’s as well as 2 senior teams from Under 20s to Masters.
