Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club (NBDBC) is a sports club located in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1997, the club trains in the picturesque surroundings of Manly Cove at the Manly Yacht Club. The club welcomes individuals of all ages and fitness levels, providing a supportive and motivating environment for paddlers to reach their goals.
NBDBC has a successful history in dragon boat racing, competing in various divisions including Mixed, Women's, Men's, Open, and Masters. Many of our members have been chosen to represent the State Dragonboat team, showcasing the club's competitive spirit. However, the club also prides itself on being sociable and fostering a sense of community among its members.
After training sessions, the club enjoys Sunday breakfasts and burger nights in the summer, creating opportunities for members to bond and have fun outside the sport. The club boasts a diverse membership, with individuals from different countries including Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Italy, China, Scotland, and the Netherlands.
New paddlers are always welcome to join the club and experience the excitement of dragon boat racing. Those interested can participate in a free trial session by contacting the club. The club's training schedule includes sessions on Sundays at 8 am (unless racing) and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm during daylight savings.
