North Torrens Rugby Union Football Club

West Torrens were formed in 1943 as a junior team in an attempt to keep the game alive during the war. In 1945 the club became the first to win the first grade leadingship undefeated. Interestingly in 1945 clubs using the West Torrens name claimed the South Australian rugby, football, and soccer leadingships. In 1952 the club won both both the first and reserve grade leadingships and only missed on on a clean sweep after forfeiting from the third grade preliminary final.

The club won another topships in 1961.
