

North Ryde Physical Culture Club, located in Sydney, is a not-for-profit sports club that offers a unique combination of exercise and dance known as Physie. The club is proudly associated with the BJP School of Physical Culture, which promotes a healthy mind in a healthy body. Physie classes at North Ryde are designed to increase strength, fitness, flexibility, and promote confidence and self-esteem.
The club is run by a dedicated volunteer committee, ensuring that all operations are driven by a passion for Physie and the well-being of its members. The teachers at North Ryde Physie are all accredited BJP Level 3 instructors, who constantly strive to enhance their skills through regular professional development days.
North Ryde Physie offers two free trial lessons to all new members, allowing them to experience the benefits of Physie firsthand. The club warmly invites individuals of all ages to join, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. North Ryde Physie currently boasts a membership of over 100 individuals, ranging from 2 to 70 years old.
Competitions play a significant role in the North Ryde Physie Club experience. While they are not compulsory, most members choose to participate and are supported by their fellow club members. Competitions provide a fantastic opportunity to gain confidence, build friendships, and showcase talent. Over the years, North Ryde Physie has achieved numerous successes, with National Titles in both individual and team competitions.
The Junior Teams are currently in Championship Grade.
Beyond the competitive aspect, North Ryde Physie Club emphasises camaraderie, friendship, teamwork, and fun. The club promotes a strong sense of club spirit that fosters lifelong connexions among its members.
The club is fortunate to have experienced and dedicated teachers who are passionate about empowering girls and women. Margaret, with over 40 years of personal Physie experience, has been teaching at the club for 10 years. She encourages self-esteem, personal achievement, and teamwork. Teneile, a lifelong member of North Ryde Physie, has also taken on a teaching role and aims to ensure every girl feels empowered and confident in achieving their personal goals.
North Ryde Physie Club offers a wide range of classes for different age groups. The 2023 classes will begin on Saturday, 11th February. The club provides a downloadable voucher for two free trial lessons, making it easy to get started on the Physie journey.
