North Qld Cruising Yacht Club

The North Queensland Cruising Yacht Club (NQCYC) is a sports club located at the Bowen boat harbour in the Whitsunday Region. The club is famous for its scenic views, laid-back atmosphere, and refreshing beverages. It offers berths in front of the club as well as hardstand spaces for trailerable vessels. Members and guests can enjoy their drinks and catch up in the bar and entertainment area, which boasts fantastic views.

No previous sailing experience is required, making it a perfect opportunity for beginners. The races typically start around 3pm, so it is recommended to arrive at least an hour early.

Despite facing challenges such as tragic accidents and destructive cyclones, the club persevered and saw the creation of a boat harbour and the relocation to Magazine Island.

The vision continued to evolve with the construction of a marina and extensions to the clubhouse.
