As a member of NASAQ, shooters have the opportunity to participate in regular practise sessions and competitions. Practise sessions are held every Wednesday and Sunday mornings, allowing members to hone their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow shooters. Additionally, a monthly competition is held on the first Sunday of each month for licenced shooters.
For those who are new to clay target shooting, NASAQ offers a “Come and Try” programme. This programme welcomes interested members of the public to visit the range and experience clay target shooting for themselves. No prior experience or weapons licence is required, and safety is ensured through constant supervision and instruction for beginners. All participants must be 11 years or older, with minors required to have an adult with them.
When visiting NASAQ for the first time, participants should come prepared with current photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport, as well as enclosed footwear. Singlets and camouflage clothing are not preferred. Ear protection will be provided, and it is highly recommended to bring a hat and eye protection. A beginner format consists of 25 targets under supervision, and ammunition and gun hire are available at the club.
To become a member of North Arm Shotgun Association, membership forms can be obtained at the club or downloaded via a provided link. Membership applications must be presented at the club for ID checks and cannot be accepted electronically. Adult membership requires a joining fee of $15 and an annual membership fee of $85, while junior membership has a joining fee of $15 and a one-time payment of $35 for individuals up to the age of 16. It is mandatory for all club members to also be current members of the affiliated club, Sporting Shooters Association of Australia QLD.
