Nor-West Jets AFC is a sports club located in Hawkesbury City Council, New South Wales. The club is primarily focused on Australian rules football and is affiliated with AFL Sydney. With a rich history and dedicated members, the Nor-West Jets have become a beloved team in the region.
Led by their passionate committee, the Nor-West Jets are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels. The committee works tirelessly to ensure that the club operates smoothly and efficiently, allowing the players to focus on their development and enjoyment of the sport.
The Nor-West Jets have a strong coaching staff in place for the 2017 season. Casey Wenselowski, who has been reappointed as the Head Coach, leads the team. The coaching staff also includes Michael Grey, who focuses on the forwards, and Nick Milkins, who works with the backs. In addition, Daniel Jarvis has been put in charge of the Div5 team, with support from Stephen Davidson.
Brent Johnston has been appointed as the Club Captain, providing leadership both on and off the field.
The Nor-West Jets are proud to have secured several new sponsorships for the upcoming season. Brentair Refrigeration & Air Conditioning will be the Shorts Sponsor for at least the next 3 years, while Bakers Delight Richmond Mall & Richmond Marketplace will be one of the Guernsey Sponsors, along with continuing as the Goal Post Sponsors. Another Guernsey Sponsor is Mr Taxman, who has been the Match Ball Sponsor for the past 4 seasons. The club's new Major Sponsor for the 2017 season is The Ricky Inn Hotel Motel.
The Nor-West Jets have had a successful 2016 season, with their players earning accolades and awards. Mitchell Crowe won the Div3 Best & Fairest "Shipley Medal” after finishing with the highest number of votes. Casey Wenselowski, the head coach, also had a standout season, winning the Div5 Best & Fairest “Paul Hibbins Medal” as well as the league Best & Fairest award.
The club encourages community involvement and transparency, holding an annual Annual General Meeting where all positions on both the Senior and Junior committees are open. This allows members to have a say in the direction and management of the club.
To provide additional support for players, the Nor-West Jets offer Jay's Injury Clinic, a free service for players with private health insurance or available for a small fee. Jay, the contact person for the clinic, provides 10 to 15-minute appointments on Tuesday nights at In2 Motion in Richmond.
