
Noosa Masters Swimming Club is a thriving sports club located in Sunshine Coast, Australia. The club is open to anyone over the age of 18 and welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities. Noosa Masters swim year round at the Noosa Aquatic Centre in Sunshine Beach, which boasts two heated pools – one measuring 25m in length and the other 50m.
The club holds regular swimming sessions on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday mornings. Coached sessions are available in which swimmers are allocated to lanes based on their ability. These sessions start at 7:30am and conclude at 9:00am, providing ample time for swimmers to improve their technique and fitness. After the sessions, members have the opportunity to bond over coffee and casual conversations.
Noosa Masters Swimming Club caters to a wide range of swimming interests. Thursday and Sunday sessions focus on general fitness and stroke correction. On Tuesdays, the club primarily directs its attention towards the Endurance 1000 programme, which includes long distance swims from 400m to 1 hour in all strokes. Swimmers who are interested in joining the club can come and try the sessions for two or three weeks before making a decision.
The Head Coach of Noosa Masters Swimming Club is Jan Croft, who has over 30 years of coaching experience. Jan is a former competitive swimmer, having set two National 800m titles and won numerous state titles. She has been coaching at Noosa Masters since 2005, and in 2012, she was honoured with the Coach of the Year Award by Australian Masters Swimming.
In addition to Jan Croft, the club also has assistant coaches Ian Tucker and Robert Morse. Ian Tucker joined Noosa Masters in 2012 after a break from swimming to focus on his career and family. Over the years, Ian has seen significant improvements in his results at local, state, national, and international competitions. In 2018, Ian became a qualified Masters Swimming Club Coach.
Robert Morse, another assistant coach, earned his Intro and Club Coach accreditation in 2012. He has had the privilege of training under renowned coaches such as Tom Caddy, John Konrads, and Peter Diamond. Bob has also competed in numerous National and International Masters Swimming events, achieving impressive results.
