Nana Glen Sport, Recreation & Equestrian Centre is an expansive sports club located in Coffs Harbour City Council, Australia. The facilities include polo crosse fields, a dressage arena, an equestrian cross country course, a cricket pitch, covered stables, a large kiosk, accessible toilets and shower amenities, storage sheds, and equestrian washing bays.
The sportsground serves as the home base for several groups, including the Coffs Harbour Polo Crosse, Coffs Harbour Pony Club, North Coast Equestrian Club, and the Nana Glen Cricket Club. It is also frequently used by community groups, such as Christmas carols, local school sports days, Woolgoolga trail riders, Macksville Pony Club, Eventing NSW, Rural Fire Brigade, and the Grafton Motor Homes Group. Moreover, the venue regularly hosts regional, state, and national equestrian sporting competitions.
Located at 75 Morrows Rd Nana Glen, not far from Coffs Harbour, the sportsground spans approximately 16. 15 hectares of land reserved by the council for Community Purposes. It falls under Zoned 6(a) Open Space – Existing and is mostly prone to flooding. Despite this, the centrally located site is easily accessible.
The primary vehicular access is through Morrows Road, which connects the sportsground to Bucca Road, the main road linking Nana Glen to the Moonee area. It's important to note that Morrows Road features a single-lane timber bridge that can pose access challenges for trucks and large vehicles during events.
The club offers booking facilities for interested parties, and the current hiring fees can be found on their website. The Bookings Officer can be reached at 02 6654 3433 or 0400 273 690. They are a volunteer community member who coordinates the bookings. In addition, all the necessary forms, such as the hiring agreement form and hirer feedback survey, can be downloaded from the website for convenience.
Membership fees are applicable to various equestrian clubs and cover the use of facilities. For the year 2022/2023, the fees include CH Polo Crosse (annual) at $700, CH Pony Club (annual), North Coast Equestrian Club (annual), and a $10 fee for the use of the Cross Country Course for non-event use, applicable to members only. Non-members can also hire the grounds on a daily basis for various activities at a fee of $300, with additional fees for the stable, camping, horse levy, and canteen hire listed separately. Other fees, such as overnight stable or yard fees, stallion box charges, camping fees, and canteen hire, are also available.
