About
"The Murray Polocrosse Club Inc. was formed at Coolup in 1999, comprising three local families in the area, which had been travelling to Serpentine to play the sport. They believed there was enough interest within the local community and enthusiasm within their own members to form a new club.
They approached the Murray Horse and Pony club, also based at Coolup, to share facilities and began developing a practise field. Since this time, we have enjoyed a harmonious relationship with the Pony Club, constructing 40 solid yards and a wash down bay for the horses.
The club uniform colours, maroon and light blue, were chosen as these are the same colours as the local high school.
In 2000, our club won the B grade final at Capel polocrosse tournament ,followed the next year by winning the B grade State finals at Perth.
In 2007, two other horse clubs have joined up at the grounds, the Coolup Camp draught Club and the Pinjarra Cutting Club, to create the Murray Equestrian Centre. We look forward to a bright future working along with the other clubs at Coolup and to encouraging a crossover of all the horse sports, especially for the youth in this area.
