About

Welcome to Mount St Patrick College in Murwillumbah, a co-educational Secondary College operated by the Catholic Education Office. Established in 1926 by the Presentation Sisters, the college is named after St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The college aims to provide a holistic education, focusing on the students' spiritual, intellectual, physical, moral, social, emotional, and cultural development. It upholds Christian and Catholic principles in all aspects of its programmes.

The college serves the Catholic Parishes of Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah and values the traditions passed down by the Presentation Sisters, Priests, and the local community. The college works to maintain these traditions and instils them in its students. The traditions are rooted in the development of a strong spiritual foundation, respect for every individual, and the pursuit of excellence in a changing society.

The curriculum at Mount St Patrick College is diverse, designed to cater to the needs of a wide range of students in an evolving educational environment. The college recognises parents as the primary educators of their children in matters of faith and morals and encourages open communication between staff and parents.

The college badge incorporates two symbols: Wollumbin, the geographical centre of the Tweed Valley, symbolising hope, challenge, endeavour, and achievement, and the Cross, symbolising hope and redemption. The college motto, “IN HOC SIGNO SPES MEA,” translates to “In this sign is my hope.

Mount St Patrick College also organises various events and activities, such as summatives, debating competitions, and water polo tournaments, to provide students with a well-rounded experience. The college has a strong commitment to academic excellence, as showcased on their HSC Excellence page. Additionally, a virtual tour is available for those interested in getting a glimpse of the college's facilities and environment.

The college acknowledges the traditional custodians of the Bundjalung country on which it stands and shows respect to the elders past, present, and emerging. It extends this acknowledgement to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people present. The college recognises that the land it occupies has always been and will always be Aboriginal land and seeks to walk alongside the custodians, advocating for voice, treaty, and truth.
