Founded in 1872, the Mount Gambier Gun Club – in South Australia's Lower South East – is the oldest continuously operating gun club in the world.
Each month, the club holds a competition attracting shooters from across South Australia and Victoria in disciplines including DTL, Balltrap, Continental DTL, Skeet, Sporting Clays and even ZZ shooting!
New shooters are encouraged to join in and for those wanting to try their hand at clay shooting for the first time, the Club is open on Friday afternoons from 3pm onwards – the perfect time to come and try the sport, enjoy watching or relax in the licenced club rooms.
Throughout the year, the Mount Gambier Gun Club also holds Waterfowl ID tests and theory nights ahead of duck season. It also hosts safety events and updates, guest speakers and coaching days on a range of topics, including psychological skills in shooting sports.
Corporate days, school competitions and groups wanting to come and have a shot may arrange to book private sessions at the club by contacting 8725 4217.
We look forward to seeing you out at the club soon!
