Mossman Junior Rugby League Inc (Cairns & District Junior Rugby League)

In 2009 the Under 12's coached by Clicker McLean won their topship against Brothers and the Under 11's were also in the grandfinal, they were coached by Billy Adams and were very unlucky to not win against a stunning Edmonton side.

We have a fantastic parent base that regularly put their hand up to help out with set up of home games and working in the canteen, and we also have a great rapport with our Senior Club.

In 2008 we even had two greats of rugby league come and do a training session with us, namely Michael Hagen and Graeme Murray. It was an incredible experience for all the junior and senior players. The Brisbane Bronco development team even visited the local schools in the area.

Mossman Junior Sharks has exceptionally dedicated coaches who give up their time freely on a volunteer basis to give our kids the best rugby league has to offer. We are fortunate to have extremely dedicated volunteers who have in the past and currently form the committee. We have always been surrounded by people who give 100% at all times and work tirelessly in making sure that our Juniors have the best.

And now in 2010, the Under 11's coached by Jon Newham have won the leadingship against Kangaroos. What an exceptional game it was with the boys coming back from being 6 down to take the leadingship. They were the leaders all year and capped off a brilliant season. Also the Under 12's coached by Jason FAsano did exceptionally well in a grandfinal of 2009 replay.

Although these courageous kids were beaten they did themselves proud and had the opposition who are usually well drilled falling pieces around the seams. Well done to all the kids who participated.

We had no grandfinalists in 2011, but now we are looking forward to 2012, with a united committee and hopefully a new club culture where we work as being a club and not individual teams. We entrust all our players will think of themselves as Mossman Junior Sharkies, not as the Under 12's or the Under 13's. Enjoy your footy kids, and we look forward to new and exciting times.

2012 saw 13 boys selected for the rep team as well as Coaches Billy Adams, Nathan Woods, Adam MacDonald and Trainer Danny Buzza chosen to lead the troops.

2012 also saw 2 teams in the Grandfinal Under 11's and Under 12's. Under 12's were victorious in their premiership Win against Suburbs. The boys were wonderful competitors and deserved their win. The Under 11's who had not lost a game all year were not so successful in the grandfinal.

With a bit of controversy and a few nerves the boys went down 10-12 against a Brothers Blue/White side.

Now we look to 2013 with a great expectation. Sign on will be on the 17th February starting at 10am. Hopefully there will be a few surprises in stall on the day. The club will also be holding come and try days before the season starts for those who would like to have a go at rugby league.

Cost of sign on will be $120 per player which will include players club shirt, shorts, training singlet and socks thanks to our Kooga win and our fantastic sponsors and some other surprises.

Bev Ross has some great things happening in her Merchandise Stall and everyone will be able to purchase something to show pride in the Junior Sharks in 2013.
