Montrose Bay Yacht Club operates as a not-for-profit organisation under a local committee with the aim of promoting an interest in sailing & of facilitating sailing activities in a safe on-water environment using small 1- & 2-person sailing dinghies. The club is located on the Western Shore of the River Derwent in Glenorchy, next to Montrose Bay High School. The clubrooms house a small fleet of both club-owned & private sailing dinghies (Including the popular Mirror, Miracle, Sabre & Optimist designs, in both fibreglass & timber.
